Review

Sometimes bands are just what they are. There is nothing more to them, and that is sometimes a good thing. The Killers are a perfect representation of their hometown Las Vegas, shallow, glitzy and shit loads of fun with no pretension to being anything other than that.

So behind all the neons there is almost nothing, but in a great way. The music is eminently dancable, singalongable and fun! Full of little kitsch elements like a lot of the synth work here, which just turns it all from the bad to the so bad its actually pretty great category.

I was just at a party tonight where they played Mr. Brightside and it worked everyone was jumping to it. And Somebody Told Me has one of the most brilliant synth solos of all time throwing the whole thing back to the 80s. As if Cure, U2 and the Pet Shop Boys had a pretty dumb but fun child. Great.
